I am a cellist. I'm a gardner. I teach cello and French conversational lessons. I write poetry. I whistle and hum and sing wherever I go. I'm a notary public, but find it boring and dry. I live in San Francisco. I like to take stairway walks, jog on the beach, walk through parks, notice things, listen, observe. I have the sweetest little cat in the world named Maple. She's my best friend, and she's very playful. She's tiny even though she's about 5 or 6 years old, because she must have been the runt, ...but also I think that she might have been stunted by the fact that when she was a kitten she got pregnant and had 2 kittens herself, poor little thing. I make up little nick-names for her every day, and we play chase and hide and seek, regularly. She likes to jump out from behind places and scare me. I yell "ooh!" or "you got me!" and she just thinks she's twice as big as she is. I think she thinks she's a huge tiger. It's adorable. She only talks when she's outside, and she loves to run up trees and cling to them like a koala bear and just look at me with the spirit of the wind in her or something... when she's inside, she sleeps most of the day, curled up with the look of zen peace on her face. I'm pretty jealous of her, really... But she likes the cello, and she likes living in an attic apartment with me, so we're pals. she's like my little shadow, and she sometimes sits on my knee, but she won't tolerate being cuddled or held too close. She's too smart for that or something... I think she thinks my hands are like her kittens because she bites them gently as if to say "don't move, you just stay right there" and then she gives me kisses with her little sandpaper tongue. She looks like a little owl. She makes me happy.
